Environmentally Sustainable Practice
Artech has embarked on an initiative to align each and every one of its Operational and Service Delivery (OSD) processes with current environmentally sustainable practices. The "Artech Green OSD" initiative is an executive order with strict definitions and deployment action items. Some of the action items have been realized, some are in process, all are wholly sustainable.
Artech Green OSD is driven by the firm's leadership team, which has fervently communicated the significance of this initiative to all senior staff, line managers and employees throughout Artech's global operations.
Much like the ecology, Artech OSD is dynamic and intertwined across many activities; therefore, Artech's employees play an important role. Employees have been encouraged to participate and thus far (and not surprisingly) the initiative has been embraced by those who regularly contribute eco-friendly suggestions via a Green email suggestion box for the numerous micro-activities they perform to make Artech a successful company.
Operations & Service Delivery (OSD)
Initially, Artech looked within itself to determine the best way to develop and deploy an environmentally sustainable initiative. As Artech is not a manufacturing company, the leadership and employees concluded that processes ae key to embarking on and sustaining a green initiative. Each task carries with it the ability to conserve energy in one form or another. Artech is in fact an ISO 9001 certified company and has developed its global practices base on QMS methodologies. Within this quality framework, Artech has and continues to review each of its processes and determine which physical actions, usable materials, etc. can be refined to conserve energy. The initiative has uncovered ways to cut, save, conserve, recycle, etc. Interestingly, these process refinements are proving to be cost effective while simultaneously increasing morale throughout the enterprise.
LEED Gold Certification
Artech is pleased to announce that its Capital Region branch office (EDGE Professional Services, LLC) has achieved LEED Gold Certification for its Commercial Interior design. The environmentally sustainable design was a key factor during the office relocation, and incorporated inputs from the Artech-EDGE leadership and employee teams to determine what was most important in the "greening" of the new branch office facility. The LEED Gold Certification validates the team's thought leadership and willingness to take extra measures to provide its clients with world-class services in an environmentally friendly workplace.
